Don’t read past this sentence if you don’t want to hear some truly gruesome, disturbing stuff.

Seriously, dude. This story is very unpleasant.

The bodies of two women from El Paso were found dismembered in Juarez and that isn’t even close to the worst part of this. This is according to a story that ran on KINT, a local Spanish language station. Before you click on that link, just be aware that they don’t blur out some of the images that KFOX DID blur in their version.

Again, these have been identified as two women FROM EL PASO.  Juarez authorities say the women were tortured, shot, dismembered then placed in large black bags and dumped in a different area. Their bodies were found on Sunday and, according to KINT, the bodies of two OTHER women, also dumped in bags, were found on MONDAY. Also, the Times front-page story was about protestors marching for a female artist who had been murdered in January of 2020. That murder has remained unsolved.

So, that is a LOT of news about violence in Juarez in a very short span of time. The year is not twenty days old yet but there have already been 65 homicides in Juarez, 11 of the victims were women.

I HEAR people say that “Juarez is safe” or, “it’s no worse than Chicago”, but the numbers don’t back that up. There have been 20 homicides in Chicago since Jan. 1 and Chicago has a million more people. Sixty-five is not a good number for any city in any country.

I’m not saying that American life is more valuable. But this does stand in contrast to some of the claims that “Americans are safe”. I’ve heard that more than a few times from friends in the U.S. AND in Juarez. Another one, “you’re safe as long as you don’t go someplace you shouldn’t be.” Okay…that could be reassuring. Is there a MAP or something that lets you know where you aren’t safe going?
