4 Things I’m Doing To Quit Cigarettes, El Paso. How Do You Do It?
Here are all the ways I plan to quit my worst habit, cigarettes, in the new year of 2022.
It was my birthday recently and I just turned 33 years old. It's an age that's made me reflect on my lifestyle and habits, and especially my health.
So after smoking cigarettes for almost a decade I have promised myself to quit that demonic habit.
But what measures should I take? And how am I going to accomplish this difficult goal?
Below are the things that I will attempt to get this damn monkey off my back.
TOOTHPICKS
I'm not sure if it's just an old wives tale, but almost everyone I know who's quit smoking has recommended I use toothpicks to get over the oral fixation. Hopefully, this will help me stop smoking, and keep my teeth meat-free.
NICOTINE PATCHES
The saving grace, the strongest of them all, nicotine patches have kind of worked for me in the past. This time I'm hoping it'll stick... Pun INTENDED!
CHEWING GUM
Another oral fixation aid, the gum will hopefully keep me from feeling the need to put something in my mouth... Also, it'll keep my breath fresh.
EXERCISE
It's supposed to relieve the stress and anxiety associated with nicotine withdrawal. I think it's a trick to stop me from binging Netflix, but I'll give it a try if it gets me off the tobacky.
I know a lot of people who make promises to themselves every new year, and then never keep them. I don't want to be one of those people, and I definitely want to quit smoking. So this year I'm making my goal to be smoke-free, and I've already started my journey by being one day in.
