Ron Bronitsky, as shown on the tv show, is from Los Ranchos, New Mexico, in the Albuquerque, New Mexico region. On the very first episode Ron makes homemade caramel apple cake pops & a bourbon maple pecan pie that he turned into a bourbon pecan cake with maple frosting.

So who exactly is Ron Bronitsky? He is 73 years old & his a retired pulmonologist from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine. Ron is even a well known musician from New Mexico; he even has his own page on the New Mexico Philharmonic website.

New Mexico is not the only place Ron has won, he's also won state fairs around the United States, including this competition from Florida. The guy really does makes a mean pie...

Minor spoiler alert: Ron DID make it past episode 1 but that's all we'll see; we don't wanna spoil the rest of the show if you want to watch it for yourself.

Regardless, that is a HUGE accomplishment to be 1. on a Netflix show and 2. represent your home state like that. So congrats Ron for making it on the show & keep baking man!
