Briggs Army Airfield is an airbase that is primarily used for military aviation purposes and is operated by the United States Army. So it should come as no surprise to see airplanes there; what was quite surprising was that the airplane that was spotted had the New England Patriots logo on it!

The plane had some locals saying WTF- why is that there?

Well, according to the comments, there's a very special reason for the plane being there. Someone in the comments said:

In the off season they lease it out for other stuff like humanitarian efforts, charity, or flying troops home.

Which I did not believe, so I looked it up, and lo and behold, it's true!

According to this article, the Patriots own a pair of Boeing 767-300ERs and they're known as the "AirKrafts" (get it? Because Robert Kraft?). New England uses one as a primary jet and the other a backup. But, the cool part is that their backup is indeed used for humanitarian efforts that include bringing troops home! How awesome is that?

According to someone else in the comments, that jumbo jet is actually at Briggs airfield often.

I'm not really a football fan, but I have to say that I have mad respect for the New England Patriots for them bringing our soldiers home!
