Netflix Might Lose ‘The Office’, It’s Time to Riot
There are certain "go-to" shows that I watch when I'm just hanging around the house and possibly getting ready to take a nap. Scrubs, Friends, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Parks and Recreation, and The Office.
The Office is probably my most "go-to" show. I can't count how many times I've seen it, but it's a lot. And that is about to come into jeopardy.
According to the Wall Street Journal, NBC Universal is looking to start up its own streaming service, which would, of course, mean they want to take all of their shows and make them exclusive.
The Office is the top streamed show on Netflix. The second? Friends. And both could end up being taken off Netflix for the NBC Universal streaming service. Friends was almost lost last year, but Netflix ponied up a whopping $100 million to keep the hit show.
Here are the top 10 streamed shows on Netflix.
- The Office
- Friends
- Grey's Anatomy
- NCIS
- Criminal Minds
- Orange is the New Black
- Shameless
- Supernatural
- Parks and Recreation
- Ozark
A big problem for Netflix? Only two of those shows are Netflix originals.
