Wednesday December 12 is National Gingerbread House day and I realized that I, Joanna Barbacoa, have never built a gingerbread house. I always saw it in movies and just assumed that it was a white people thing. But then I thought, I like my houses like I like my men, sturdy and ginger; so I thought, maybe this is the holiday season where I'll finally get to build one!

So I presented the idea and Buzz and Lisa decided to join in and be my sherpa up the gingerbread mountain. We didn't have just one gingerbread house, we had an entire gingerbread village! In the video below, you'll get to see my first time building it. You'll also get to hear our deep thought process with with questions like "why is it called gingerbread if it's not even bread?" Also, we discover that gingerbread house candy is not tasty at all, so don't bother trying to eat it. All in all, it was a learning experience but I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon. Also, icing EVERYWHERE. Follow me on my journey!
