What is the most popular Christmas song in Texas?

According to the Texas Monthly, they interviewed a woman from El Paso named Debby Soso who gave her 20 picks for the best Christmas songs. Among her list were a few Christmas classics from Willie Nelson (Christmas Blues), Asleep at the Wheel (Merry Texas Christmas, Y’all), & Kevin McKinney's "Silent Night".

When we asked on our Facebook, the results were a little different; some of the favorites were:

  • "Last Christmas" by Wham,
  • "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee
  • "Dominick the Donkey",
  • Frank Sinatra's version of "Jingle Bells",
  • "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer",
  • Elvis Presley's "Blue Christmas"
  • Bob Seger's version of "The Little Drummer Boy",
  • And we saw metal Christmas classics like "Mistress for Christmas" by AC/DC or Twisted Sister's version of "O Come All Ye Faithful".

But...the best Christmas song through out the ENTIRE state of Texas, at least according to Finance Buzz is...

Yes the Jose Feliciano classic, "Feliz Navidad", was voted THE Christmas song for Texas. It's also considered the most popular Christmas song in New Mexico & Florida.

Interestingly, the best Christmas song for the state of Arizona was "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year", presumably the Andy Williams version since that's the most well known version.

For me, "Last Christmas", "Happy X-Mas (War is Over)" & pretty much the ENTIRE Trans-Siberian Orchestra catalogue will be MY picks for best Christmas song. So Happy Holidays! Let those Christmas songs fill the air.
