Monster Jam Crowned a Texas Champion During World Finals XXIII
We know there have many Texas winners at the biggest Monster Jam event every year; the World Finals. There have been winners from Texas dating back since 2004. This year, at the Monster Jam World Finals XXIII at LA's So-Fi Stadium, we saw another Texas winner take home a championship; one that has already been to victory lane before in past World Finals.
Which Texas driver won at the World Finals XXIII?
Colt Stephens from The Woodlands, Texas, and the driver of ThunderROARus, won first place on Saturday night in the Lucas Oil High Jump Championship with an astonishing 31.3431 ft.
If 31 feet doesn't sound that high, watch his winning run and you can see just HOW high in the air that is.
Another fellow Texas driver would place highly in the same competition, Linsey Reed from El Paso driving the Lucas Stabilizer got 8th place with a jump at 26.63 ft. Definitely a great attempt from Linsey.
Colt would give a solid run in freestyle; not enough to get him the win but that save was a fine piece of driving from the Texas driver.
The other winners of World Finals XXIII include:
- Armando Castro (El Toro Loco) winning the 2-Wheels Skills World Championship,
- Zack Garner (Wild Side) winning the JCB Racing Championship; just barely edging out another Texas driver, Tristan England driving the JCB Digatron
- & Tyler Menninga (Grave Digger) winning the BKT Freestyle World Championship.
This victory would was Colt Stephen’s 2nd World Finals appearance & his 2nd World Finals championship; he won the freestyle championship back in 2023.
Congratulations to Colt & all the winners from the 2024 World Finals XXIII!
