As UTEP is getting ready for their annual Minerpalooza celebration, they're also getting ready to have some amazing local artists perform & battle it out live in El Paso. Since 2021, they started adding a battle of the bands competition during Minerpalooza & this year they want YOUR band to perform this year for the 4th Minerpalooza Battle of the Bands.

When can bands sign up for UTEP's Minerpalooza Battle of the Bands

Genuine Reference Studios posted an open call on Monday (July 1st) to any artist that wants to perform this year. They're looking for bands that want the opportunity the people what they got! And that's the ability the rock out & win. The open call is open for 2 weeks; the search stops on Friday, July 12th.

GRS also says that any band who's interested must have:

  • A minimal of at least 3 band members,
  • Must be available to film for a video recording of the band's performance between July 22-28. (That's for the introduction videos if your band gets picked).
  • AND they must not be a repeat winner. However if any band has been in the any of the battle of the bands, but didn't win, they will have another chance.

Some of the past winners include:

  • Rivers Ventura who won the 1st Battle of the Bands in 2021,
  • Melancholy 10, who the 2022 Battle of the Bands,
  • & Sultanes Del Yonke won the 2023 Battle of the Bands

Any bands that are interest can sign the entry form on Genuine Reference Studio's website right here. No matter who gets picked this year, to all of those who will performing this year, I say "break a leg!".
