As a soccer fan, I'm not going to lie, I have my superstitions and rituals. I wear my jersey every time my team plays, I coordinate my makeup and I take a shot of tequila before the game. If they lose well, then I did something wrong, if they win then I did it exactly right! My mom however, likes to light a candle and say a prayer before our team plays. While I may think that's over the top, I participate in it because, it can't hurt, right? It looks like now, I'm going to have to add a new ritual because after Sunday's Mexico v. Germany game I'm certain that this played a great part in it!

I'm pretty sure you've already seen this video before, but it's just so good that I had to post it as well! The video has made the rounds on all social media as well as news stories and it's all thanks to Willy Gonzalez of El Paso. Gonzalez got his mom to give the players a bendicion, or a blessing before the game, and she must have had the magic touch because Mexico beat Germany 1-0! If you can't understand what the guy says when she gets to Memo Ochoa he's saying "give him double." I'm going to have to get my mom to do that for the rest of the World Cup games because it couldn't hurt right? Here's hoping she does the same on Saturday when Mexico goes against South Korea
