This Texas Ranch Is So Massive It Could Fit An Entire Country Inside It
"Everything is bigger in Texas" certainly rings true in this case. Texas is home to one of the biggest ranches in the entire United States. The 6666 Ranch, Brewster Ranch, the W.T. Waggoner Ranch are all some of the biggest in the state but they can't compare to the BIGGEST one: the King Ranch.
With over 825,000 acres of land at 1,289 square miles, it easily can be called "GIGANTIC", "HUGE" "ENARMOUS" and "big". To find this giant ranch, you just need to travel outside of Houston.
The King Ranch is the biggest ranch in the state of Texas
It's fitting that the King Ranch is located in KINGsville, Texas. The King Ranch was founded in 1853 by Captain Richard King. In its 150 plus years of existence, the ranch is home to thousands of cattle, horses & other livestock. The King Ranch became a National Historic Landmark in 1961.
Here's how big The King Ranch is compared to other states & other countries
Just a reminder, the King Ranch covers 1,289 square miles....that's larger than the entire state of Rhode Island, which covers just 1,000 square miles. The official website even shows that part of the King Ranch is located in Florida too in between the cities of Orlando & Miami. The King Ranch is even bigger than the entire European country of Luxembourg; which is even smaller at 998.6 square miles. In fact you can find multiples of the smallest countries inside the King Ranch like Singapore, Bahrain & Monaco.
The King Ranch has also given us some famous products we use in Texas
Turf grass, John Deere tractors, Ford trucks (yes really) are all some of the things that came out of the King Ranch. They have their own line of John Deere tractors called the King Ranch AG & Turf, their own line of turf grass which is found all over the state & the next time you see a Ford F-150 with the "King Ranch" badge, now you know where it came from.
The King Ranch is also a popular place for hunting; perhaps Dale Earnhardt stopped by here since he loved hunting in the state of Texas.
