Day Of The Dead is about remembering lost loved ones and, over the years, the KLAQ family has lost a few. Here's who gets an altar in the Q studio ...

Day of the Dead is a traditional holiday celebrated November 1st and 2nd when departed spirits are invited back home for a visit with their families.

Folks gather together to remember those they have lost in a number of ways. Some put up altars in their homes around the persons photo, others go to gravesites and have picnics.

Joyous, fun, festive celebrations of loved ones lost that keep their memories alive and strengthen the bonds between family and friends still with us. Speaking of family, you're family. As I wrote years ago:

You're not just a listener to KLAQ, you ARE The Q. C'mon, we see each other at key events, we celebrate together when we can and we don't always agree on things.

'Ya see? You're one of us and, as you let us into your lives every day, we become one of yours.

That being said, here are some KLAQ DJ's lost over the years. Starting with Arin Michaels - DJ, operations manager, program director, producer; she could do it all. You can see a picture of her, and learn a little more about her, here.

Over the years, many others have "signed off" ...

Among the favorite things on their altars, I'd put a Coors Light on Magic's, a joint on Big Al's, Jack Daniels on Scott's, a "how to be a professional comedian" book on Mardi Gra's and some motocross gear on Courtney's.

Not only does Heaven, as they say, have a helluva band ... the radio station up there kicks ass too.
