The Most Haunted Room in This Arizona Hotel Awaits
Nestled on a hilltop overlooking the ghost town of Jerome and surrounding Verde Valley, the Jerome Grand Hotel awaits your visit.
The Jerome Grand Hotel, located in Jerome, Arizona, is a historic and famously haunted hotel- and now they dare you to sleep (if you can!) in their most haunted room: Room 32!
The Jerome Grand Hotel was originally a hospital; the United Verde Hospital and it opened in 1927. It was constructed to serve the copper mining community in Jerome, which was once a booming mining town. After the hospital closed in 1950, the building sat vacant for decades. In 1994, it was purchased and converted into the Jerome Grand Hotel, which opened to the public in 1996.
The hotel retains much of its original architecture and charm, offering a vintage experience. Many rooms are decorated with period pieces, and the ambiance is reminiscent of its early 20th-century roots. Despite its historic nature, the hotel provides modern comforts such as Wi-Fi, private baths, and an on-site restaurant, The Asylum, which serves American cuisine with a scenic view.
But since it went from hospital to hotel, things have gotten a little spooky. Guests and staff have reported numerous ghost sightings, unexplained noises, and other supernatural occurrences. The most famous ghost is believed to be that of a former hospital maintenance man named Claude Harvey, who was found dead in the elevator shaft in 1935. His death remains a mystery, adding to the hotel's eerie allure.
But none compare to the horror you might find inside room 32. The room has seen a lot of tragedies that include two alleged suicides: one that occurred when a man wheeled himself off the balcony, and another involving a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Now, room 32 is the most requested among paranormal aficionados!
You can find out if you're cut to sleep with the spirits at the Jerome Grand Hotel and book your stay here.
