Road Closures and Construction For The Week
If you're commuting through El Paso or Southern New Mexico this week, prepare for road closures and lane reductions as construction projects continue across the region. Here's your guide to the scheduled closures from October 21 to 25.

I-10 Widening West Project
- Sunday, October 20, and Monday, October 21:
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Artcraft Road and Redd Road for concrete pavement installation. - Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
South Desert Boulevard will be reduced to one lane south of Bentridge Drive for metal beam guard fence installation. - Monday, October 21 through Saturday, October 26:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
I-10 East and West will be reduced to one lane between Vinton Road and Transmountain Road as crews work on retaining walls.
I-10 East and West between Mesa Street and Redd Road will also experience lane reductions for earthwork.
US-62 Rehabilitation Project
- Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mobile lane closures on Paisano and Montana (US-62) for alternating westbound and eastbound closures between I-10 and Airway Boulevard. Crews will install permanent striping.

North Mesa Street Lighting Improvement
- Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Expect lane closures on Mesa (SH-20) from Glory Road to Mesita Drive as crews work on lighting improvements and concrete repairs.
Traffic Signal Improvement Projects
- Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25:
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Lane closures on Dyer (BUS-54) at Tetons Drive, Hondo Pass, Zaragoza (FM 659), and at the Martin Luther King Boulevard intersections for traffic signal improvements.
Miscellaneous Projects
- October 20 through October 25:
Various locations across the city including I-10, Loop 375, US-54, and Montana Avenue will see closures for guardrail repairs, concrete work, ADA improvements, and spall repairs. Most closures will occur between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
