Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Jones to Host Celebrity Softball Game at Southwest University Park
Former University of Texas at El Paso and current Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones and his twin brother Alvin, linebacker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League, will be hosting another charity softball game in El Paso this summer.
Aaron and Alvin are going to divvy up a roster of former and current ballers to play a fun pick-up game as a fundraiser for the Jones brother’s charitable organization, A&A All the Way Foundation.
The professional athletes from El Paso hosted their first A&A All The Way Foundation Charity Softball Game last year with a roster that included former El Paso Chihuahuas power hitter Cody Decker, Denver Nuggets guard Bryn Forbes, and former UTEP Miners and current NFL player Eric Tomlinson.
Alvin’s team beat Aaron’s team 12-10.
“The support from the community last year was amazing,” said Aaron Jones via press release. “I want to raise even more money for the kids this year – and get redemption on my brother.”
Team Aaron and Team Alvin will go head-to-head at Southwest University Park on Thursday, June 29. The 2023 celebrity roster has not been revealed yet.
The goal is to raise money so the foundation can continue to execute events that focuses on fitness, recreation, and children’s basic needs, and military families in both the El Paso community and in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area.
Aaron was the Packers' 2022 nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. Considered the league's most prestigious honor, the award represents the best of the NFL's commitment to philanthropy and community impact.
