El Paso Zoo’s ‘Quit Bugging Me’ Event: Where Exes Become Meerkat Meals
Is someone bugging you so much that you wish you could feed them to a meerkat?! Ok, that sounded a bit extreme but the El Paso Zoo has got the perfect way to send some special 'buggy' love to those who bug you the most!
The El Paso Zoo's famous event, 'Quit Bugging Me,' is back and better than ever.
With a kind donation to the El Paso Zoo, people can submit the name of the person who's been bugging them and the zoo will name a cockroach after them. These little critters will then become a scrumptious snack for the meerkats at 2 p.m. on February 14, 2024.
The best part, you can witness your personally named cockroach as it is fed to the meerkats. People are invited to tune in on Facebook Live or catch the action on the zoo's Instagram page.
Now, before you start feeling guilty about roach-naming revenge, the zoo assures everyone that these Madagascar hissing cockroaches are ethically sourced and are part of the meerkats' natural diet. It's like a little bug buffet for them!
And the best part os that all the donations go to support wildlife organizations and zoo staff. Talk about spreading love and positivity, am I right?
So, if you're looking for a way to show some love this Valentine's Day (or maybe just some passive-aggressive fun), head on over to the El Paso Zoo's 'Quit Bugging Me' event. After all, nothing says 'I love you' like feeding your ex to a meerkat!
