If you haven’t been able to catch a daytime Saturday farmers market because you haven’t wanted to venture out in the unrelenting heat, you don’t have to miss out on locally-grown produce and locally-made products this weekend.

The city-sponsored Downtown Art and Farmers Market is hosting an evening market on Saturday.

El Paso Downtown Artist and Farmers Market is a year-round, outdoor artisan market that features original arts and crafts, food trucks, regionally grown agricultural products, and entertainment from local artists.

This Saturday’s evening market celebrates National Farmers Market Week, an annual observance that highlights the role farmers markets play in communities.

The special evening market will consist of over 50 local vendors with a focus on local produce, according to a city press release. It will take place Saturday, August 12, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Arts Festival Plaza located between the El Paso Museum of Art and the Plaza Theatre.

And, bonus, after you are done shopping local, you’re just a short walk away from the Downtown nightlife and the restaurants and bars it offers.

The weekly market will return to its usual location in the Union Plaza District along Anthony and San Francisco Street the final two Saturdays in August from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
