Former Killeen, Texas Teacher Accused Of Inappropriate Relations With Student
On January 25th, 2024, Leslie Renae James, formerly an educator at Shoemaker High School, was placed under arrest for the alleged crime of an Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. Here's what we know currently.
Early Details Of The Case
According to KWTX, back on November 16th of 2023, the Killeen Police Department's Special Victims Unit received notice of James' alleged inappropriate relationship. The investigation revealed that an unnamed 18 year old student was invited to James's residence.
Police further elaborated that sexual contact happened between James and the student we he was at the home. Police then brought their case to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, which led to the charge against James.
Gregory Johnson, Justice Of The Peace, issued the warrant for her arrest. KWTX reports she turned herself into the Bell County Jail. According to the Bell County Jail, she is currently held on a $50,000 bond.
