Texas Police Officer Shoots Person at Buc-ee’s Store
An off-duty police officer in Texas City reportedly shot someone at Buc-ee's Friday night.
The person that the officer shot was allegedly attempting to shoplift from the store, and when the officer's taser failed to work while attempting to detain the shoplifter, that is when he pulled out his gun and shot him once.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the popular Texas-based store.
According to KHOU, the suspect was taken to UTMB-Galveston with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Because this incident involves a police officer, The Texas Rangers and Galveston County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
The off-duty officer who fired the shot Friday night was working security at Buc-ee's when the person attempted to steal from the store.
