Don't blow on fires.  That is how you get them to start, not stop.  Probably the main ingredient for a good fire is oxygen.  I realize we exhale Carbon monoxide, but Carbon monoxide can ignite very easily because it is the result of the incomplete burning of carbon, it can be burned in oxygen to generate carbon dioxide.

For the love of god... cover it

One Youtube commenter said it best.  Cover that thing! Or throw flour on it.

Candle Safety Awareness

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of candle safety. Candles, though seemingly harmless, can pose significant risks if not used and monitored responsibly. Here are some essential candle safety tips to keep in mind:

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended: Even a brief moment of distraction can lead to disaster. Always extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.
  2. Keep candles away from flammable materials: Ensure that candles are placed on stable surfaces, far from curtains, papers, or any other flammable objects.
  3. Use candle holders: Opt for sturdy, non-flammable candle holders that can catch any dripping wax and prevent fires.
  4. Trim the wicks: Long wicks can cause candles to burn unevenly and may lead to the production of excessive soot or smoke. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before lighting the candle.
  5. Be mindful of pets and children: Keep candles out of reach of pets and children who may accidentally knock them over.
  6. Consider alternatives: If you have concerns about candle safety, consider using flameless candles or other electric lighting options to achieve a similar ambiance.
