Unique Airbnb: Spend The Night In A Historic County Jail In Texas
When searching for an Airbnb, you find plenty of places that seem like a perfectly average house. There usually isn't anything that makes it stand out, other than the price. Once in a while, you come across something that is truly unique.
Like this small-town Airbnb that was once a county jail in Texas.
The Historic Hall County Jail In Memphis, Texas Is Now An Airbnb.
Back in 2021, I wrote about the Hall County Jail in Memphis, Texas being up for sale. At that time, it had been converted into a home and it was on the market waiting for the perfect owner to come along. I suppose that perfect owner did.
Now, the Hall County Jail is a unique Airbnb.
What You Get For Paying To Spend The Night In Jail...
There are several remnants of the jailhouse still in the Airbnb. There are some of the metal walls. There are even barred door windows. The big iron gate is still there, as well as the old jail keys. Outside, there's still the old Hoosegow number one and two.
When it comes to the amenities, there is a game room stocked with arcade video games, a ping-pong table, and darts. The backyard has been turned into a nice patio area that looks like it would be great for spending a nice warm afternoon.
The kitchen is a very nice size, and the living room area is more than likely a far cry from what the lobby of a county jail would look like.
