It's been said that we do things differently in Texas. We're known for our rugged individualism, strong sense of self-reliance, and being prone to going over the top for a good time. This is embodied in a recent viral video of what's called "Ranch Day" at Cisco College in Cisco, Texas. It's the most "Texas" thing you've ever seen.

The Texas Steer Wrestling Video Taking The Internet By Storm

The video has been remixed with different songs a million times by now. People are chiming in with their two-cents on how insane the whole thing is. I think it's one of the single greatest "Texas" videos on the internet at the moment.

It has everything you could want. An obvious madman who is built like a tank, arms wrapped around the skull of a less than enthusiastic steer, wrestles for dominance against the massive charging beast. Onlookers stand way too close to the action, too concerned with watching the spectacle to worry if maybe this is a bad idea. There are mud crickets and even a guy who gets the business end of a charging steer.

A Breakdown Of The Most "Texas" Thing You've Seen All Week

The action starts in the first few seconds of the video. This steer comes flying out of the gate with a man attached to his head. There's no chasing on horseback. It gets right to the struggle for dominance. This guy is massive in his own right, and it's incredible watching him flip the beast over on its back before both are back on their feet and the struggle continues.

The crowd gathered to watch the event is just as interesting as the wrestling itself. You have people with their cellphones out, much too close to the action, trying to get the most incredible angle possible. Mud crickets are seen in their daisy dukes, tank tops, and "cowboy" boots trying to pick out which Wrangler-wearing Cassanova they're going to try and catch a pickup ride with.

You Call It Crazy; We Call It Rodeo

The video ends with onlookers scattering, mostly in time, as the man and the steer bring their struggle to a climax. One poor individual found himself on the business end of it all and takes a tumble himself.

Most of the internet is flabbergasted by the sight. For those of us in Texas, it's as normal as a Tuesday. We've all seen this in high school, college, and after church service on Sunday. Games of strength between man and beast are just something that's part of our culture. Some call it crazy, we call it rodeo.
