Did You Know Texas Leads the Nation for Creating More Jobs?
As more people continue to move to Texas, more employers are continuing to hire. Texas is a great place to live and work, and an awesome place to raise a family. So it's no wonder Texas continues earning accolades like we recently received for job creations across the Lone Star State.
Earlier this week Texas Governor Greg Abbott said, "the dominance of the state’s jobs economy following the release of June employment data shows that Texas again leads the nation for jobs added over the last 12 months." Texas continues smashing all previous records for total Texans employed and total Texas labor force.
However, I keep hearing from my friends that are business owners, saying, "we can't hire enough people who want to work full-time, most just want to work a few hours a day."
Here are the latest numbers from the Governor's Texas Labor Information Office showing the new record high figures for Texans who are either employed or self-employed. Where do you fit in these numbers?
Texas reaches a new high for total jobs at 13,944,600 as employers added 31,100 nonfarm jobs over the month.
Texas reaches a new high for Texans working, including employed and self-employed, at 14,429,900.
Texas reaches a new high with the largest labor force ever in the state’s history at 15,039,800.
Texas again leads the nation for job creation over the last 12 months, adding 542,500 jobs and growing at a 4.0% annual rate, the fastest of all states and well above the annual growth rate for the nation as a whole of 2.5%.Source: Texas Workforce Commission and the Governors press release.
