It’s Official: Taco Bell Removing Several Menu Items Next Month
It's been made official, starting on August 13th, Taco Bell will be removing over a dozen items on their menu! Earlier this week, the internet went into a frenzy when a Reddit post from a "verified employee" posted that the chain was planning on removing several items from the menu. Most notably on the Reddit post was the statement that "all potato items" as well as the Quesarito would be removed. Many clutched their Chalupa's fearing that they were on the chopping block.
For the entire week, many wondered how credible the Reddit post was until Friday (7/17) when Taco Bell released an entire statement confirming the removal of the potato items and lots of other favorites. Here is the entire list of what's leaving:
- Grilled Steak Soft Taco
- 7-Layer Burrito
- Nachos Supreme
- Beefy Fritos Burrito
- Spicy Tostada
- Triple Layer Nachos
- Spicy Potato Soft Taco
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
- Cheesy Potato Loaded Griller
- Beefy Nacho Loaded Griller
- Chips and Nacho Cheese Sauce
- Chips and Guacamole
- Chips and Pico De Gallo
- Mini Skillet Bowl (breakfast)
On the upside, while the Quesarito may not be on the menu board, you can still order it digitally through their website or through their app. Taco Bell also gave information on what new items would be coming to the menu like a $5 Grande Nachos Box and $1 Beef Burrito. You can read the entire statement here.
Taco Bell's changes come as effort to simplify their menu amid the on going pandemic. In the meantime, Taco Bell strongly urges you to snag these menu items before they're gone on August 13th. But Taco Bell does say that their menu is entirely customizable- so you can always order to your liking. And if the potato items leaving have destroyed you, there is a petition you can sign to keep them on the menu.
