Snow has officially fallen on the borderland, or at least what we consider snow here anyway- people up in the Northern part of the country must be laughing at us.

Nevertheless, the Sun City had a snow day. But while the snow is now melting leaving behind no trace- our friends over in Ruidoso and Cloudcroft are fully embracing the snow- and enticing all of El Paso to hop in their car and take a trip to the mountain villages.

The photos shared by the Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce and by Inn of the Mountain Gods make the snow look so beautiful, and it looks like a magical winter wonderland. However, one photo that was shared by Inn of the Mountain Gods has given me a strange case of cabin fever!

Inn of the Mountain Gods shared a photo of their beautiful resort and casino as a fresh batch of snow fell in the area- and it looked eerily familiar check it out below:

You have to admit, it kind of looks like the Overlook Hotel from "The Shining". Maybe this video they posted will help you see it a little better.

The video doesn't have sound, but I could totally hear "The Shining" theme song playing! Inn of the Mountain Gods may not be in an iconic horror movie, but with the vibes it's giving off in this photo and video it may as well be considered the Overlook Hotel of Mescalero- all that's missing is those creepy twins!

In case you didn't know, The Overlook Hotel from "The Shining" does exist,- but it's actually called The Timberline Lodge in Mt. Hood, Oregon. The original hotel that inspired "The Shining" is called The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.
