There's major backup on Interstate 10 due to a crash earlier this morning. Find out what alternate routes you can use. There's major congestion on El Paso's roadway after a crash earlier this morning. At 8 A.M. this morning, there was a tractor trailer crash on westbound Interstate 10 at Geronimo that caused diesel fuel to spill on the freeway. Special equipment had to be called in to cleanup the spill and workers expect the freeway to be closed for several hours. Westbound traffic is being directed to take the Geronimo exit.

Delays in the area include the eastbound lanes from rubbernecking, and backup on I-10 West is to Hawkins. Alternate routes include Paisano, Montana and the Loop. Follow the El Paso Police Department on Twitter for more information and updates, or check out the traffic cameras in El Paso to see the congestion in the area. We will let you know when the roadway is open again.
