How To Get Your Free Thanksgiving Meal Box This Weekend

Here's how to get your free Thanksgiving Meal Box this weekend, thanks to The Great Khalid Foundation.

The Great Thanksgiving Giveaway is open to anyone who needs assistance putting food on the table this holiday season. One thousand Thanksgiving meal boxes will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis.

How It Works:

• Drive-thru distribution starts at 10 a.m.
• Vehicles will be allowed to line up beginning at 9:30 a.m. (not before)
• One meal box will be distributed per vehicle
• All windows must remain rolled up, please do not exit your vehicle.
• Pop the trunk and the meal box will be placed inside your car.

All vehicles must be in line, as the map illustrates below. Up to 1000 vehicles will receive a numbered voucher to avoid line cutting. This voucher will be taped to the windshield of vehicles. Do not remove the voucher, or you will not receive a meal box.

Directions:

• Enter north through Highway 54
• Exit Diana
• Turn right on Cohen.
• Turn left on Kenworthy
• Follow directional signage into the facility
• Vouchers will be distributed, so make sure to follow drive-in instructions.

As El Paso families continue to be financially impacted by the pandemic, the Great Khalid Foundation is helping to alleviate a little bit of their burden with the Great Thanksgiving Giveaway.

The Great Khalid Foundation and the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso, in partnership with Townsquare Media and many more community partners, is setting out to help families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. This first-time initiative will aim to give 1,000 families a complete Thanksgiving dinner. Each family will receive a meal box that includes all of the essentials to make a Thanksgiving meal that will feed 4-6 people. A drive-thru distribution of the meal boxes will take place at FirstLight Federal Credit Union at 9983 Kenworthy on Saturday, November 21, 2020.
