Deming New Mexico, home of the world famous Deming Duck Race, will soon be featured in a movie!

If you've never been to the race, you HAVE to go! (It's basically a group of people scaring the holy you know what out of a bunch of ducks while a bunch of other people eat churros and drink beer!)  The movie filming there has nothing to do with the duck race though. :(

According to,

the movie tells the story of an ex-convict who gets a second chance, but the local law wants to send him back to prison.”

It stars Forest Whitaker who was seen doing some external shots there yesterday!  The movies official title is Enemy Way.  (No, not Enemy Guey ... Enemy WAY!)

A September film festival will bring Lou Diamond Phillips to the City of the Crosses.  He'll be in Las Cruces in September for the White Sands Film Festival.  He'll be receiving the 2013 White Sands International Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award.

(What's even weirder than the White Sands Film Festival happening in Las Cruces is the fact that it will be held at  the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.)
