Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced last week that Texas gyms and fitness centers would be allowed to reopen on Monday, May 18th. There will be certain recommendations that gyms need to follow including:

  • Workout equipment must be spaced 6 ft apart
  • Fitness facilities can only operate at 25% capacity
  • Employees and customers will be screened before being allowed into the gym
  • Regularly and frequently disinfectant frequently touched surfaces and equipment
  • Close locker rooms, showers, and daycare areas
  • Have staff and customers wash hands before and after using the lity
