Did you forget about that library book that's been on your nightstand for awhile? Now you can return it and not worry about those overdue fees. If you have some overdue library books lying around your home, this month is the time to turn them back in and not worry about those pesky late fees. You can donate to the El Paso Public Library's Food for Fines program until January 18th. People with overdue fees can donate non-perishable canned food items to the MLK Canned Food Drive, according to KFOX News. Each canned food item will be the equivalent of $1 worth of fines.

Donations will be collected at any of the 12 El Paso public library branches or the library bookmobile. The food donated will be distributed through 8 organizations that feed the hungry in the borderland area. For more information on the Food for Fines Program call the El Paso Public Library at (915) 212-3201 or visit their website.
