An El Pasoan working for Border Patrol in Marfa, Texas was killed earlier today in an accident.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, an El Paso man was killed this morning in an accident in Fort Hancock. The 29 year-old man, Jose Daniel Barraza, was a Border Patrol agent stationed to the Big Bend sector in Marfa, Texas. Around 7:30 a.m., Barraza was driving a white Ford F-150 on Interstate 10 when he rear-ended a semi.

Barraza was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing his seat belt. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash. A spokesman for the Big bend sector says Barraza was on his way home when the crash occurred.

 

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash.
