As you may know, Fleetwood Mac member Stevie Nicks spent a pretty good amount of her childhood in El Paso but not many know the bands first live gig with her was here.

Peter Green started Fleetwood Mac in the late 60's but the band really took off a few years later when Lindsey Buckingham and his girlfriend Stevie Nicks came onboard in 1974. With 3 strong songwriters now instead of 1, the band shifted from a blues based sound to a more commercial one and the hits kept coming.

Stevie's family moved to El Paso when she was about 7 and stayed for 5 years. During that time, Stevie went from 3rd - 7th grade at Loretto, Crockett and Bassett. Her family moved around quite a bit and she went to high school in the Bay area where she met Lyndsey Buckingham.

May 15, 1975, Stevie found herself back in the 915, playing the El Paso County Coliseum in a newly formed version of Fleetwood Mac that was about to go in a new musical direction.
