I made the comment to my wife last weekend that I miss going to the movies. I know I can still watch movies at my house, but there's something about actually going to the movie theater that is enjoyable. Especially when you go see a big release like a Marvel or Star Wars flick with a crowd that's really into it.

We won't be seeing any new big releases out in East El Paso, but you can at least have the movie going experience as Cinemark in Far East El Paso is reopening. The Cinemark 20 and XD located at 11855 Gateway West will reopen it's doors this Friday (July 31st) with a series of classic comeback movies. What are on the list of movies they'll be showing? Here are some...

  • Jurassic Park
  • Raiders of the Lost Arc
  • Back to the Future
  • Deadpool
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Jaws
  • The Dark Knight
  • The Goonies
  • Ghostbusters
  • Beetlejuice

The tickets at $5 for adults and $3 for kids. What about new movies? We still aren't sure yet. They keep bumping back Tenet, which is now scheduled to be released on September 3rd. A couple weeks ago Buzz was confused and thought that Tenet was going to be released. He seriously believed it and was ready to head to the theater after the show. We shouldn't have corrected him.

What can you expect when you get to the theater?

  • All visitors are required to wear masks.
  • Auditoriums will be operating at reduced capacity.
  • The cleaning throughout the facility will be increased.

What say you? Are you going to head to the theater to check out some classic movies?
