Cinemark Theaters is set to start a phased reopening on all over their 500+ theaters across the nation. On Wednesday, Cinemark released a full video with their CEO Mark Zoradi explaining exactly how they plan on reopening.

The first phase starts on June 19th in Dallas, Plano and McKinney. In El Paso, two of our theaters, Cinemark 20 and XD  and Cinemark West and XD, are set to tentatively open on July 3rd. Other Cinemark theaters set to open in El Paso are:

July 10th:

Cinemark does note that these dates are subject to change and that opening dates are based on local and state ordinances.

These opening dates coincide just in time for the release of Christopher Nolan's highly anticapated movie Tenet which opens on July 31st, and Disney's long awaited Mulan which opens on July 24th. In the weeks leading up to Hollywood's new releases, Cinemark plans on showing "classic" titles at discounted prices.Films like “Ghostbusters,” “Jurassic Park,” “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Goonies” will be shown for $5 for adults and $3 for children. Concession prices will also be temporarily reduced (hello, $5 popcorn!) and Cinemark is instituting strict sanitary precautions for its reopening that include staggered seating, rigorous cleaning and reduced operating hours. Their employees will also be wearing masks and gloves, and encourage guests to wear face coverings as well in the designated areas. You can find more info here.

I'm sure in the coming weeks, we'll see more theaters announce their openings and guidelines.
