Linkin Park’s New Singer Was a Star When She Performed in El Paso
Yes the news is out that the new co-lead singer for Linkin Park is Emily Armstrong from the band Dead Sara. Before she got possibly the biggest gig in her career, we here in El Paso actually saw Emily over a decade ago at one of OUR gigs. More specifically at one our Balloonfests back in the day.
Which Balloonfest had Dead Sara perform in El Paso?
The 2012 KLAQ Balloonfest saw Hellyeah, P.O.D. & Buckcherry perform during our 3 day event from May 26- May 28. Dead Sara performed on the first day of that same Balloonfest.
Our very own Kevin Vargas interviewed Emily afterwards & his message at the end of the video...well it was quite prophetic.
Yeah Kevin predicted she was gonna be a star and well...yeah she definitely is! And was too when she sung her heart out for all the fans at Wet N' Wild all those years ago.
We were also lucky enough to have Dead Sara perform at the KLAQ studios a couple days before their Tricky Falls show with Chevelle that same year.
The Morning Show were also lucky enough to catch them at SXSW & even had them on the show.
That's not only thing Dead Sara has done in El Paso; they posted back in 2011 that they were recording for their debut album. And that studio was....Sonic Ranch. The same album that would have one of their biggest hits to date....
Who would've thought that the talent we saw back in 2012, Emily's singing will now be forever associated with one of the biggest bands in the world.
We loved having Emily & the guys in Dead Sara in El Paso, Texas & will be here for when you guys want to come back!
