Four XFL Players That Hail From & Represent West Texas
America loves football; from college football to the NFL & more recently, the revamped XFL. While the thought of the XFL creating in El Paso is an amazing thought (it probably won't happen though), that doesn't mean people FROM El Paso couldn't play in the league. And there are; at least 4 players (and one more name worth mentioning).
Steven Montez
If you're a Washington fan, you might remember Steven Montez for his stint with the Washington Football Team (or that he played for Colorado in college). What you probably don't know is that he's from El Paso & is a graduate of Del Valle high school.
Steven is currently the quarterback for the Seattle Sea Dragons.
Justin Rogers
The former UTEP Miner Justin Rogers is currently in the XFL playing for the Orlando Guardians as a defensive back.
Denzel Chukwukelu
Another former UTEP Miner is defensive tackle Denzel Chukwukelu, he was drafted to the San Antonio Brahmas in 2022.
Darta Lee
The final UTEP Miner to join the XFL is offensive lineman, Darta Lee (he also had a stint with the Fighting Illini) He's currently part of the offensive line for the Arlington Renegades.
And there's one more name to mention....
Jaime Elizondo was born in Mexico, he spent a few years growing up in El Paso (his sister would graduate from Hanks High School & even posted photos talking about her brother on Facebook.). Jaime would coach for the CFL (Canadian Football League). Currently he's the offensive coordinator for the San Antonio Brahmas.
I love seeing El Paso names in the big leagues so let's hope to see more in the XFL (and NFL)
