A Local Loco worked with Chester Bennington before either of them found their own fame and fortune.

Norman Matthew spent years on the El Paso music scene fronting Lylah, Murder FM and, now, As Strange As Angels. He continues to perform and runs The Sound Foundation in Dallas. Chester Bennington, of course, fronted Linkin Park, STP and Dead By Sunrise.

Prior to all that, Chester was just another aspiring young singer with a lot of talent and high hopes. When he was 17, he entered the studio with Grey Daze. Their producer invited some music students along to help him as a class project and that group included Norman.

Grey Daze was one of the first legit studio projects I was able to be a tiny tiny part of. While attending recording school in AZ, I was invited to be a part of something beautiful by my mentor Ghery Fimbres. Grey Daze moved me. The first time I heard Chester Bennington’s voice. I KNEW he was special. Shortly after, that voice would go on to shape, inspire and create a new era In modern music that will never be forgotten with Linkin Park. Chester was always kind to me. Encouraged me to jump both feet first in my journey as a vocalist. - NP

Chester had always planned to release his work with Grey Daze but, died before the project came to fruition. His old bandmates finished it themselves with help from Chester's son Jaime and members of KornP.O.D. and Bush. No release date for the album has been set.
