This Live PD El Paso Clip Is Going Viral For Its Positive Message
You never know what's going to happen during a police stop; shows like World's Wildest Police Videos, COPS & Live PD have shown us that there's no such thing as a routine traffic stop. One clip from El Paso has proven that, you never know who you're gonna pull over & what they're going say.
This El Paso man proves people can change for the better
On Season 2 of Live PD titled "10.20.17", EPPD officers Maria Gonzales & Kevin McKinney pull over a man for having a license plate that was very hard to see at night. When they asked the driver to step out & ask him if he'd been arrested before, he said "oh yes. many times".
But right afterwards, the man says that once he served his time, not only has he dedicated his life to working but by providing for his family; he goes on to say that his kids were honor students & he was sober for 14 years.
Impressed by how much he has changed since serving time on the inside (and also getting them to crack a few laughs), the cops decide to cut him a break and let off him with just a warning. To date, the original clip has over 3 million views on YouTube.
Years later, this El Paso Live PD clip would circulate over social media
This is normally where the story would end but...not so. The same clip would be shared on various pages on Instagram that promote inspiring change for people; to let them know that your past doesn't have to dictate who you REMAIN as a person. One example is Tom DeBlass (who has over 700k followers); his post talking about this man has over 250k likes & over a thousand comments. He even goes to say that this man "is a huge inspiration for me".
What's even interesting is some YouTube comments (when the video was reposted a year ago) have said they've even met the same man who was pulled over & said that he was working at a local food bank.
So wherever this man is now, we hope that life has continued to serve your family well & that your children continued to be upstanding citizens. Also to the 2 cops in the video, you most likely helped this man continue to live his life in a positive way so thank you both as well.
