El Paso Municipal Courts have been closed for a while now due to the COVID 19 pandemic. As of today, they are once again open to the public.

El Paso Municipal Courts have been closed to the public for over a month but as of today, they are once again open and operating normally.  Many people are still reluctant to visit public areas and/or expose themselves to large numbers of people so, the courts are still offering virtual services as well as conducting "in-person" business.

According to the El Paso Municipal Court website, all Municipal Court locations will open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., while the facility at 9600 Dyer will open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All Court locations will provide the following services:

  • Acceptance of Payments and payment plan requests
  • Paperwork submission
  • Requesting driving safety course by right
  • Video arraignment hearings (except 4801 Osborne and 810 E Overland)
  • Parking Hearing requests (at 810 E Overland by appointment only).

For information on how to request a virtual arraignment hearing, click here.  All El Paso Municipal Courts will follow strict safety guidelines including mandating the wearing of face masks, proper social distancing, temperature checks, and allowing only 50% of their normal capacity.

If you don't want to go to the actual courthouse and just need to make a payment, you can do that online, by phone at (915) 212-0232 or through a drop box located at each Municipal Court location. Due dates for payment plans, community service, and driver safety paperwork have been extended until January 4, 2021. Payments can also be mailed to:
