El Paso is a pretty honest city with a population that's, for the most part, always on the up and up. There are 3 lies though that get told here all the time.

El Pasoans are good people but just about all of them have, at one point in time or another, told at least one of these lies knowing very well what BS it is.

Yep, I'm guilty here too. We just can't help ourselves.

The 10 commandments lay out the basics of living a good life pretty clearly, with one of them, (#8 or #9 depending on what you're reading), instructing us NOT to "bear false witness.” Yet, we do it all the time.

A lie is, of course, a statement made by a person or persons who know it is, in fact, a falsehood. Not true, never going to happen, etc.

3 Biggest Lies Told In El Paso:

"I'll Just Have One More". Told in bars and at parties all day, every day. Often associated with and/or used in tandem with "I'm just going to go for an hour or 2".

"I'll Be There At __ O'clock". I don't care where they are, what they're doing or where they're going; 9 out of 10 El Pasoans will not follow through. Expect a plus/minus of at least 30 minutes to an hour.

“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”
