El Paso’s Gateway Hotel Will Reopen Under New Management
A new life will be given to the historic Gateway Hotel in Downtown El Paso, Texas!
If you'll remember, back in September 2024, the Gateway Hotel was ordered to close following a temporary injunction due to allegations of criminal activities and safety violations!
The hotel at the time was dilapidated and considered a public nuisance and a "hotbed of criminal activity- most notably, gang activity from the Venezuelan based crime organization Tren de Aragua".
However, in a press conference with Mayor Leeser, who did acknowledge that there was one Tren de Aragua member, Leeser stated that the hotel was not closed down due to gang activity, but rather how run-down the hotel was saying quote:
The Gateway Hotel was not closed down because of immigration laws or anything. It was closed down because of the quality of life and some of the things that the hotel owner had not done and had not upgraded and had not finished.
What's Next for the Gateway Hotel in El Paso, TX?
Since then, many have questioned what will happen to the hotel now that it's been closed- and today I have great news!
It was announced back in December, in case you missed it, that the Gateway Hotel has been acquired by the Houston-based real estate company Patel Capital Groups.
What will Patel Capital Groups do with the Gateway Hotel? It'll now be a La Quinta Inn & Suites according to their announcement on Facebook.
There's no word yet on when we can expect this new La Quinta Inn & Suites to open up- and no other details were given, but judging by the comments, many are just excited to see that this landmark won't be forgotten and will live on!
You can keep up with Patel Capital Groups here.
