Whether it's something you take home to make or fast food, everyone in El Paso has a favorite dish or treat. Let's see which one came out the year you were born ...

Every year, new food items are introduced. Some are gone almost instantly, some last a few years or decades and some just seem destined to be around forever. McDonalds french fries, for example, first popped up in 1949.

Fun fact: Ronald originally fried his 'taters in beef tallow. You can thank the 90's anti - saturated fats health craze for bringing that tasty practice to an end.

Anyway, let's look at some super popular foods and see which came out the year you were born. The 50's gave us frozen pizza, diet soda, Eggo waffles, marshmallow peeps, cocoa puffs and the Whopper.

We'll just touch on the 60's too rather than going year by year. That decade brought us Sprite, Pop Tarts, Kraft single cheese slices, Doritos, Slurpees and Mickey Dees answer to the Whopper, the Big Mac.

Now, what came out the year you were born? Here is each food item released, in order, from 1970 - 1999:

The 90's, as you can see, had a few that didn't stand the test of time but 2000 gave us one of the most epic new product fails of all time ... rainbow ketchup.

There you go. Did your favorite treat(s) come out the same year you were born? Close to it? Mine didn't - Coors Light showed up in 1978 and Tequila got here centuries ago.

I stopped the list at 2000 because I feel like anyone born after that probably doesn't really care about this stuff and those born after 2010, I'm certain don't care.
