El Paso EMT on Ventilator with COVID-19, Needs Donations
The COVID-19 numbers in El Paso don't seem to be going down all that much. And it has unfortunately hit local Juan Lopez. There's a GoFundMe for Juan that says the following:
Hello everyone, my name is Carlos Díaz and my family and I have started this fundraiser for our dear friend Juan Lopez . Unfortunately about three weeks ago he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and the disease progressed quickly as he was hospitalized within a week of initially feeling sick. As of August 6th, he was placed on a ventilator and remains in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit. Juan Lopez has worked in the medical field in various roles for many years, but his dedication has mostly been in Emergency Medical services as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. Juan is one of the hardest working individuals I have ever met and would do anything to provide the best life possible for his loving wife and daughter. All proceeds will go to the Lopez family for whatever it is they may need during this difficult time and and I urge those who may know him as well as fellow medical professionals to find it in their heart to contribute to this fundraiser.

I know it's not typical to ask for donations on here so please feel free to ignore this but one of our own is really struggling right now and I just wanted to try to get this in front of as much people as possible. I've worked with the guy he's a hard worker and a family man and to hear he's on a ventilator probably eating through his life savings kills me especially knowing he has kids to support.
Please consider donating even if it's just a little every penny counts.
Times are tough for everyone, but if you can donate anything, every little bit counts.
