95.5 KLAQ FM and Destination El Paso are pleased to announce that the El Paso Downtown Street Festival (StreetFest), will be moving to a cooler timeframe. The annual downtown event will be hosted on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6, 2018. Organizers have opted for the fall time of year to take advantage of El Paso’s mild weather and to extend the festival season for El Pasoans and visitors to enjoy music, food, and entertainment.

The festival footprint will also have a new look at the El Paso Streetcar makes its way to debut later this year, and the event will take over new streets in the downtown area with various stages and entertainment options to offer attendees.

“As downtown changes, we are happy that the StreetFest is changing as well. Recent improvements to the area including Southwest University Park and the new Streetcar System has created an opportunity for festival producers to adjust our original layout. However, StreetFest will keep the tradition of bringing the community together with music, entertainment, food, and fun in the streets of downtown, with just a little bit of a new look, new date, as well as new streets to party on,” Brad Dubow, General Manager of Townsquare Media said.

“We are excited to bring the festival downtown in October when temperatures are cooler in the Sun City. As festival producers, our main goals are to provide a fun, welcoming atmosphere and memorable experiences for guests, as well as to showcase our culturally rich border city to locals and visitors,” said Bryan Crowe, General Manager of Destination El Paso.

More information about the new look of the festival will be announced soon, as well as the unveiling of the new footprint and on sale date for tickets.
