
El Paso Businesses Rally To Help Federal Workers
Several El Paso businesses are stepping up to help displaced federal workers weather the storm of the government shutdown.
The shutdown of the federal government has many government employees out of work and while some continue to do their jobs, pretty much none are getting paid.
With no clear end to the shutdown in sight, El Paso businesses are offering special deals and freebies to sidelined employees to help them get through these crazy times.
Fades Inc, located at 1355 George Dieter, is one such business. Today, Wednesday, October 15th, they are offering free haircuts to federal workers suffering during the shutdown.
The Elmont, 240 W. Castellano
Federal workers with a valid ID can enjoy a 30% discount throughout October at Evaga Desert Kitchen, The Elmont’s signature restaurant known for its elevated desert-inspired cuisine.
Additionally, a limited number of complimentary tickets are available for this Friday’s show at The Elmont Swim Club, featuring international DJ and producer Hugel. - kfox
Limit, 4 tickets - proof of federal employment required.
Bodega Loya
The farmers market, located at 10257 Socorro Road in the lower valley, is offering federal workers a 20% discount.
Operation H.O.P.E.
Operation H.O.P.E. will be giving away food baskets Saturday, 10/18 at the Northeast Regional Police Command Center, 9600 Dyer, from 10am - Noon.
How Can I Help?
The El Paso International Airport is asking for donations to assist their furloughed employees.
