East El Paso Drivers In For More Construction Closures
More construction woes are coming to east El Paso ... like any part of El Paso needs more of this madness.
I can almost get away with plagiarizing myself on these things. Seriously, all I really have to do is cut and paste the El Paso street and/or highway involved and change the dates. I could write one daily, it's crazy.
Here's what's jacking up the east side this month ... and possibly into October.
The closure is set to impact the intersection between Pellicano Drive and Aircoupe Way, and Pellicano Dr. and Darrington Road from Sept. 8-30.
The County said EPE crews will be working nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Sunday nights to Friday mornings. The eastbound lane closure will be in effect during this time frame. - ktsm
Granted, there are several things making life miserable on the east side ... and every other side ... of El Paso; this is just a new one. It involves an area that has sucked for a long time already and is now going from bad to worse.
The stretch of Pellicano that runs between Joe Battle and Darrington has long been a nightmare during "rush" hours. (And a bad dream the rest of the day.) Honestly, whoever planned the area along that route should be forced to drive it, during the heaviest traffic times, EVERY day. Twice.
Then, next time, maybe they'll think to have roads in place that can handle a zillion cars a day before they build zillions of homes and businesses.
These closures aren't for the road itself but for EP Electric to put up new poles and other equipment for these rapidly growing areas.
