On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Vitalant and the El Paso community came together to help save lives. Vitalant held a blood drive that tragic day calling all El Pasoans to donate blood. After the Walmart massacre occurred, many El Paso residents came through to help save a life.

2019 was a first for me to see Vitalant have a line of people stepping up to donate. We all know how important it is for people to donate blood. Even though donating may seem like something small it actually makes a huge difference.

Well if you have always wanted to be a hero and save a life minus the hard work, donate blood. Donating blood does so much and coming from someone (me) who needed a blood transfusion, I am thankful for people who donate. After my C-Section, I needed two units of blood due to some complications.

People who donate blood really do make a big difference. If you want to make a difference and help save a life, schedule your appointment with Vitalant for this weekend. Vitalant is holding an El Paso Strong Plaque Dedication Ceremony this Saturday, July 31 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Vitalant would like the public to join together to donate this weekend in honor of the victims. On Saturday, August 3, 2019, more than 500 donated blood after hearing about the tragic news. Then after that day over six thousand El Pasoans showed up to donate blood. Just refer to Trending Live's YouTube video above. So if you would like to donate, stop by any of the Vitalant locations in El Paso or Las Cruces. Attendees will receive a Commemorative El Paso Strong t-shirt (while supplies last) along with drinks and snacks.
