Doctor Sleep hits theaters on November 9th. If you don't feel like waiting until after Halloween to experience the terror of Stephen King then I have some great news, fellow horror lovers! Fandango is teaming up with Warner Bros. to offer early access viewings to approximately 400 theaters across the US nine days before the wide release. Even greater news? One of those theaters is right here in the Sun City!

The advance screening will take place at Cinemark 20 (formerly known as Tinseltown) at 11855 Gateway Blvd. Doctor Sleep is set to be released on November 9th, but nine days before the 9th is October 30th. That means that you'll get to check out Doctor Sleep on Halloween eve! What better way to celebrate the spookiest of holidays than with a special screening of the sequel to one of Stephen King's greatest works? It's a one night only event and it'll only be available for one screening in one auditorium. Tickets are on sale NOW! You can get them here.

The continuation of Stephen King’s The Shining is based on the novel of the same name but also, the film exists within the Stanley Kubrick universe. Doctor Sleep stars Ewan McGregor as an older Danny Torrance, simply "Dan" in this one. According to the synopsis, "Dan struggles with alcoholism and remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel when he was a child. His hope for a peaceful existence soon becomes shattered when he meets Abra, a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the "shine." Together, they form an unlikely alliance to battle the True Knot, a cult whose members try to feed off the shine of innocents to become immortal." The sequel is directed by horror maestro Mike Flanagan (who's done hits like The Haunting of Hill House and Oculus). Doctor Sleep has a run time of 152 minutes so Flanagan has some advice: "...you may want to go with the SMALL soda."
