El Paso doesn't get super cold during winter but if you want to experience "real" winter temps, here are the best places to go in the southwest.

El Paso has a really mild winter, New Year's Eve, 2024, we're looking at a high temp in the low 70's. People here in the Borderland could almost throw New Years Eve pool parties.

It's really nice but sometimes I do miss having "real" winters. Easy enough to find though as we're only a 2 hour drive from "real" winter, complete with snow and winter activities like skiing and snowboarding.

That would be in Ruidoso. We're about the same distance from Silver City who also get a real winter except there's no ski resort. If you just want to "chill" and forget the record breaking summer we just survived, here's where you can get the coldest.
