The famed actor, director, producer, and composer recently filmed a feature-length movie in and around Las Cruces. Now he's heading for Albuquerque.

Clint Eastwood last filmed in New Mexico in and around Las Cruces in 2018, shooting the movie "The Mule" in which he played a 90-year-old drug smuggler trying to save his business. According to our news partners at KVIA, "production filmed for six days in the Las Cruces area, spending about $1.3 million locally."

The new production from Clint Eastwood will be set in and around the Albuquerque area ... no word yet on whether any filming will be done closer to Las Cruces or El Paso ... and production is scheduled for 11/4 - 12/16. In the movie, titled "Cry Macho":

Eastwood will play a one-time rodeo star and horse breeder in 1978 who takes a job from a former boss to bring the man’s young son home. The film follows their journey from rural Mexico on their way back to Texas. - KVIA

Eastwood has become Hollywood gold over the years, churning out one successful project after another all while basically thumbing his nose at Hollywood and the movie-making "establishment." He has always been about doing things his own way and in his own style which has afforded him a great degree of power in Hollywood thanks to the success of his work. He's also earned a great degree of respect from fellow actors and contemporaries for the way with which he seems to treat all the people he works with.
